Before After
Hi Everyone!
I came across a before and after painting shot of a basement project I did in 2007. The goal was to take the small basement area and turn it into the "Man's ROOM". This client wanted a bar, entertainment area for "hockey night" and needed room for his pool table. He said " if you can do all that for me in this small space, you're hired."
I loved this project, and this client needed the help.
The best part of this project was going through the process of picking colours that went with a sports theme vision my client was looking for, designing the feature colour band for hockey and baseball memorabilia { to be hung within the colour band } painting and planning the room around the wants and needs of my client.
We went with 2 colours that looked great with both of his favorite sport teams colours. The colour band was carried around the room except for the bumped out section where the bar was to be placed. In the "after" picture you'll notice the bump out because that is where the colour band starts, also ends on the other side of the bump out ( which is 6 ft wide 3.5 ft deep). His pool table went align with the bar and off to the right hand side the bar/ pool table area was the entertainment part. He had a big, flat screen mounted so that it can be seen from the bar, as well as, the rest of the room. There was just enough space for the futon couch which was placed between the flat screen and pool table.
The sad part about this project, I didn't take enough pictures of before and afters. Pictures would show exactly what I did in this basement.
So getting back to my title for this blog, Lesson Learned!
Lesson #1 ..... always take LOTS of pictures of my projects!
Reason -Picture's tell a story, especially for me who isn't a great story teller, Prospective clients want to see a portfolio. It gives them a better idea of what I can do, and possibly could do for them. For the "just in case" factor, like me blogging, I never would have thought in a million years I'd be blogging, or I'd need my project pictures for advertising or for a portfolio or..or..or
I guess I could go on and on with the reasons but I'm sure....you get the picture.
